Les Jardins de Métis(Reford Gardens) is proud to be a Feature Garden on the 2010 VIA Rail Garden Route, Canada’s first national Garden Tourism initiative,” said Alexander Reford, the garden’s director. Until September 6, when you visit Les Jardins de Métis, visitors are invited to fill out a ballot for a chance to win a round trip for two in VIA First Class to Ottawa and the Canadian Tulip Festival in the spring of 2011.”

Opening of the Exhibition Elsie at the Estevan Lodge of the Reford Gardens (July 26, 2010)
The Reford Gardens opened the new exhibition Elsie by two artists from Métis-sur-Mer, Janis Gillan and Rasa Pavilanis, this afternoon at 4 pm, at the Estevan Lodge. This exhibition features 22 painting by the artists who spend their summers in Métis-sur-Mer.

A garden for every taste (May 31, 2010)
The Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens open for their 48th season on Saturday, June 5 at 8:30 am. With the earliest spring on record, the crabapple and azaleas are already in bloom and offer a spectacular floral tableau. You will be surprised to see what is already on display in the gardens.

11th International Garden Festival (May 19, 2010)
The International Garden Festival enters its second decade with a program of gardens and special events for the 11th edition. The 2010 Festival will display a record 21 gardens on the Festival site as well as extra-mural gardens in Montréal, Calgary and Toronto. The theme of this year’s Festival is “Paradise”. Berlin is the invited city. The program includes the broadcast of the new documentary film, Twice Upon a Garden, as well as culinary, musical, cultural and artistic events throughout the summer.

The International Garden Festival Announces the Designers for its 2010 Edition (December 2, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is pleased to announce the names of the designers selected by the jury for the 2010 edition of Festival. A total of 276 proposals for conceptual gardens was submitted by over 600 architects, landscape architects, designers and artists from 34 countries, a record number of participants since the inception of the Festival in 2000.

The International Garden Festival featured in the latest issue of Landscape Architecture magazine (November 5, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is the subject of a feature article in Landscape Architecture, the magazine of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The article appears in the November issue and is written by Université de Montréal professors Bernard St-Denis (who designed a garden for the inaugural edition of the Festival in 2000) and Peter Jacobs.

The Reford Gardens and the International Garden Festival one of the Great Gardens of America! (October 7, 2009)
Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens and its International Garden Festival have been recognized as one of the great gardens of America in a new book written by Tim Richardson and recently published in the United Kingdom. Great Gardens of America features twenty-five gardens in the United States and Canada.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
FOR THE 11th INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL (September 14, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is preparing its eleventh edition and is issuing a call for proposals to select designers who will create temporary gardens to be presented from June 26 to October 3, 2010 on the site of Les Jardins de Métis / Reford Gardens. This call for proposals is open to all landscape architects, architects, designers and artists from Canada and abroad.
