The International Garden Festival Presents Author Tim Richardson in Montréal (March 9, 2010) The gardens of Elsie Reford will be transformed into an outdoor cinema on Friday August 14th at 8 pm for the avant-première of the new documentary film by Philippe Baylaucq entitled, Il était deux fois un jardin / Twice Upon a Garden. The film captured the beauty of all seasons of the Gardens visited by tens of thousands of people every summer. The International Garden Festival at Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens is celebrating its first 10 years with an ambitious program of colourful gardens by leading international designers and a series of festive events presented from March through October in Toronto, Montréal and Grand-Métis. The International Garden Festival from Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens returned to Canada Blooms in Toronto from March 18 to March 22 as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations with the presentation of “Passe-moi un sapin, Rita” or “Come play in our garden!” installation that stole the show. The Festival presented a feature garden at Canada Blooms for the 5th time.

The International Garden Festival Announces the Designers for its 2010 Edition (December 2, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is pleased to announce the names of the designers selected by the jury for the 2010 edition of Festival. A total of 276 proposals for conceptual gardens was submitted by over 600 architects, landscape architects, designers and artists from 34 countries, a record number of participants since the inception of the Festival in 2000.

The International Garden Festival featured in the latest issue of Landscape Architecture magazine (November 5, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is the subject of a feature article in Landscape Architecture, the magazine of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The article appears in the November issue and is written by Université de Montréal professors Bernard St-Denis (who designed a garden for the inaugural edition of the Festival in 2000) and Peter Jacobs.

The Reford Gardens and the International Garden Festival one of the Great Gardens of America! (October 7, 2009)
Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens and its International Garden Festival have been recognized as one of the great gardens of America in a new book written by Tim Richardson and recently published in the United Kingdom. Great Gardens of America features twenty-five gardens in the United States and Canada.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
FOR THE 11th INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL (September 14, 2009)
The International Garden Festival is preparing its eleventh edition and is issuing a call for proposals to select designers who will create temporary gardens to be presented from June 26 to October 3, 2010 on the site of Les Jardins de Métis / Reford Gardens. This call for proposals is open to all landscape architects, architects, designers and artists from Canada and abroad.

Reford Gardens Unveil a New Work of Art by Fernande Forest (August 17, 2009)
Reford Gardens (Les Jardins de Métis) will unveil a new work of art by artist Fernande Forest at Estevan Lodge on Friday August 21st at 4 pm. Entitled, Pour mémoire, this work will became part of the fabric of Estevan Lodge as it is built into the windows of this historic building.

The International Garden Festival partners with Toqué! Restaurant to launch the Festival’s 2009 Fundraising Campaign (April 26, 2009)
For the 10th anniversary edition of the International Garden Festival, the Festival is partnering with Montreal’s famed Toqué! Restaurant to launch its 2009 fundraising campaign. For more than three years, Chef Normand Laprise, Christine Lamarche and their team from Toqué! have partnered with the Festival every summer, offering up a menu of delicacies and culinary delights for the supporters of the Festival in an event held in August in the historic surroundings of Estevan Lodge.
