The fern, that fragile and familiar plant omnipresent in Québec forests, becomes the subject, the formal structural element, and the visual reference of this garden. While the site itself has been planted with hundreds of ferns, the effect is one of the surrounding forest's having invaded the well-tended garden. The ferns create a delicate aura that is enhanced by the movement of the plants.

Long stainless steel bands, which recall the morphology of the fern, twist and turn through the garden, forming a screen or wall that articulates the space and reflects the surrounding landscape. The visitor is located at the interface between the physical reality of the ferns and an image produced by the undulating screen that reflects and diffracts the landscape. The carefully designed topography prescribes the relationships between the ferns and the screen, while the visitor's movement enhances the reflections and play of light, thus contributing to the creation of a new, reconstructed image.
