Souvent me souviens (Often Remembered)
Extra-Mural Garden - Sainte-Flavie
After the flooding in December 2010, many families had to leave their homes – some were moved, some rebuilt and others demolished on land which was considered too unsafe for building. A house used to stand on this plot, but was partially destroyed in the storm and then demolished. Now a space for the community and visitors, it has five sheds connected by a winding walkway. Each shed is a response to the site, the flood and the global conditions which mean that we now live in an age of unprecedented climatic instability, to which we must adapt to survive.
