Johanna Ballhaus, landscape architect & Helen Wyss, architect
Montréal (Québec) Canada & Fribourg (Switzerland)
Johanna Ballhaus is a landscape architect and Helen Wyss is an architect. They have been working together since 2014 and have participated in architectural and landscape competitions in Switzerland and Canada. They develop their projects by combining conceptual strength with the urban scale with attention to detail. Landscape and architecture are treated as a unit. The coherence between interior and exterior spaces is as important to them as the sensory perception of the human being, respect for the environment and a poetic and playful approach.
Johanna Ballhaus participated on three occasions at the International Garden Festival: with the NIPpaysage team in 2013 and 2014 for the realization of the garden Le bon arbre au bon endroit, and in 2010 as a volunteer for the creation of the Jardin de la connaissance by German landscape architect Thilo Folkerts and Canadian artist Rodney Latourelle. Helen Wyss currently works as an independent architect in Switzerland. She is also employed by the Museum of Art of Basel as a guide of architecture and art.
